Large Commercial Water Loss in Wareham

What are Chem Sponges?

What you see in this picture above are used chem sponges. Chem sponges are a tool that our technicians use in soot/smoke/fire restoration situations. This sponge is designed to grab soot off of hard surfaces. When someone experiences a fire in their home or business, soot travels far from the fire source. Often times when we help customers with fire damage that started in the kitchen, soot can be found all the way on the second floor in many rooms. These sponges will amaze you! To the untrained eye, surfaces can look clean but with one swipe of a chem sponge, you’ll be in shock at the amount of black residue that appears. Restoring Water Damage in Kingston

A Kingston resident had their hot water heater burst- leading to extensive water damage throughout their entire den. In this photo you will see our Technician Donald here with a flood cut. A flood cut is when you remove the drywall and address any moisture issues behind the actual wall. 

Got Smoke/Soot?

A Carver resident experienced a puff back which threw smoke/soot residue EVERYWHERE the eye could see. In fact, even where the eye could not. When it comes to cleaning up after smoke/soot- you have to wipe down EVERYTHING. Not only to get rid of the smell, but to ensure no hard-to-see particles are left. Once our crew was done with this home, there wasn't a speck of soot the eye could see. The home owner was thrilled to have her home back to it's pre-soot condition.

Frozen Pipe Aftermath

This Plymouth resident came home to her entire basement in an inch of water due to a burst frozen pipe from extreme cold weather. Our crew immediately went to work sucking up the water and sorting through contents. After the water was sucked up, strategically placed air movers and dehumidifiers were placed to continue to dry out the structure. Once dried, it was treated with an anti-microbial agent to prevent any possible mold growth. Once the team at SERVPRO of Plymouth/Wareham were finished, the customer could not have been any happier. She was happy to have her basement back, 
"Like it never even happened."

What Does 2020 Hold?

Snow storms are a state of mind- as long as they're not of the dangerous nature. We were so happy to get our first snow storm here in Plymouth this year! The aftermath almost a week later is beautiful.

This Lakeville home's garage had insulation that had gotten wet some time ago, and when the homeowner noticed mold they called SERVPRO of Plymouth/Wareham. Our technicians went in with the necessary expertise and equipment to tear out the effected insulation and treat the surrounding areas. 

This Plymouth home had extensive fire/smoke/soot damage in both the home and on it's contents. You can see just how thick the soot was by looking at this blind railing. A SERVPRO of Plymouth/Wareham technician was able to visibly spell out SERVPRO in the thick, sticky soot. After a lot of hard work, this home and it's salvageable contents were restored back to their pre-fire condition. 

In this photo you'll see one of our technicians at SERVPRO of Plymouth/Wareham using what is called a chem sponge on this Plymouth family's home after fire damage. Chem sponges, or sometimes called smoke soot or drywall sponges, were specifically designed for the fire/disaster restoration industry. They clean the small traces of soot spread throughout a home after fire or smoke damage.

This Plymouth homeowner left something on the stove which led to a stove fire in their kitchen. This is the aftermath once our crew arrived at the seen. You can see the visible smoke and soot damage on the wall. Soot also settles all throughout the house and though less noticeable, it can't be forgotten. Our crew goes in with chem sponges and rags to wipe down the entire home as well.

Protective clothing is very important when removing and treating mold. In this photo you'll see one of our technicians wearing a protective suit (a Tyvex coverall), eye protection, gloves and a respirator. 

This Kingston home had water damage in several rooms after a pipe broke. The homeowners called SERVPRO of Plymouth/Wareham to restore their home back to it's pre-water damaged condition. In this photo you'll see one of our technicians getting rid of wet insulation from the ceiling. 

In this photo you can see one of our techs at SERVPRO of Plymouth/Wareham using a water extractor machine to extract the water from the wet carpet. Extractors, with the help of your weight, suck water out of both the wet carpet and pad. 

This Carver family home had a leak which lead to serious water damage in their finished basement. They called SERVPRO of Plymouth/Wareham to help restore their family game room. Our techs went in and pulled baseboards and flooring, and started drying using air movers as you can see in the photo. The room was also treated with an anti microbial agent before the job was done. Now this Carver family's game room is dry and ready for rebuilding!

This Houston, TX home needed a complete demo after Hurricane Harvey! Our team at SERVPRO of Plymouth/Wareham drove down to Texas to help with all of the damage, this was one of the homes we worked on!

The owner of this Pembroke home had left a faucet running for quite some time, leading to a serious water damage that affected several rooms in his home. This is the Living room after demo!
